Lesson 3

The subject of the lesson was as follows. The artist told the students of the “School of the Future” about his artistic career and the ideological obstacles he had to overcome in the course of his life. He also told the students about the challenges of freelance work, about his forced departure from his native city of Zaporozhye and his move to the northern part of Russia, about formation of artistic personality. The other subjects concerned understanding of contemporary art and ones attitude to it, the answer to the question “What is the meaning of Malevichs Black Square?”, the value of art in the life of contemporary people and spiritual development.
The topics of the next lessons can be presented in the same sequence with more thorough consideration of the subject matter and demonstration of original works or reproductions possibly on screen.
